Slovenia defeats Scotland 2-1 in Nations League comeback

Slovenia secured a historic 2-1 comeback victory against Scotland at Hampden Park in a UEFA Nations League Group B1 fixture. Scotland took an early lead in the 31st minute when Ryan Christie scored following a scramble after Jack Hendry’s header struck the post.

Slovenia responded in the second half, with Aljoša Matko scoring the equalizer in the 56th minute. The visitors completed the turnaround in the 71st minute when Danijel Šturm converted a chance created by Matko.

The result leaves Scotland with four points and facing a difficult path toward promotion, as they must win their remaining matches, including an upcoming fixture against Switzerland, to keep their ambitions alive. Slovenia moves to seven points, trailing group leaders Switzerland, who currently hold twelve points.
