New decrees regarding the working hours and administrative operations of state administration bodies have entered into force in Slovenia. The changes aim to increase the accessibility of administrative services to citizens, particularly during afternoon hours, to reduce the need for citizens to take time off work to handle official matters.

Under the new regulations, administrative units will extend their official hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until 18:30. While the start time remains 8:00, the closing times for these two days have been adjusted. The total volume of full-time working hours for employees remains the same; the change represents a redistribution of hours rather than an increase in total labor time.

For example, the Administrative Unit in Ljubljana will now operate from 8:00 to 15:00 on Mondays, 8:00 to 18:30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, remain closed on Thursdays, and operate from 8:00 to 13:00 on Fridays. The Ministry of the Interior and Public Administration stated that this move is intended to bring public administration closer to the needs of its users.
