Slovenia extends administrative unit working hours
The Slovenian government has adopted amendments to the decree on administrative operations, extending the official working hours of administrative units on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Under the new regulations, these units will begin work at 8:00 and remain open until 18:30 on those days.
The change is intended to improve accessibility for users who, due to professional or other obligations, have been unable to manage administrative matters during standard working hours. The government emphasized that this adjustment does not increase the total working hours of public employees but rather redistributes their existing schedule.
To accommodate this, flexible working hours for employees have also been adjusted. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, staff may start their shifts between 7:30 and 8:30 and finish between 18:30 and 19:00. This measure affects various administrative tasks, including personal documents, driver's licenses, residency registrations, and building permits.
