Slovenia highway accident kills three members of Ravenna-based family

A fatal highway accident near Ljubljana, Slovenia, has claimed the lives of three members of a family originally from North Macedonia and residing in Ravenna, Italy. The victims include a 74-year-old grandmother and two children, aged 4 and 11.

Preliminary investigations suggest the crash occurred on August 27 when an Audi A4, carrying five family members, struck a truck that had stopped in a lay-by due to a mechanical failure. The vehicle reportedly hit the truck's bumper before crashing violently into the rear left side of the trailer.

The two parents, aged 33 and 39, survived the collision but sustained injuries. The mother was airlifted to a hospital, while the father was transported by ambulance. Macedonian authorities are assisting the family with the repatriation of the deceased.
