Slovenia hosts gluten-free expo and deaf culture celebrations
Radovljica is hosting the Gluten-Free Expo Slovenia 2026 on September 27. This event, which features a record number of exhibitors from Slovenia and abroad, aims to connect the gluten-free community and raise awareness about celiac disease. The expo includes culinary demonstrations in a demo kitchen, lectures, and activities for children. A five-euro wristband provides access to special programming, with proceeds benefiting the Viljem Julijan Association, which supports children with rare diseases.
In Ljubljana, the Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Slovenia is celebrating the International Week of the Deaf and International Day of Sign Languages. The event, titled ‘Deaf Expo I feel deaf love’, allows deaf individuals from Slovenia and abroad to showcase talents in arts, crafts, culinary skills, and sports. This year’s theme, ‘Declare the human rights of the deaf’, aligns with the World Federation of the Deaf’s mission to ensure deaf rights are recognized and protected, marking 75 years of the federation and 20 years of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
