Robert Golob establishes shadow government in Slovenia

Marking the 100th day of Janez Janša’s fourth government, the opposition party Gibanje Svoboda has established a shadow government led by Robert Golob. The shadow cabinet aims to monitor government decisions, propose alternative solutions, and prepare for future leadership.

The shadow government is organized into six key areas: inflation and social security for the elderly, youth and knowledge, healthcare and long-term care, economy and public finance, energy and infrastructure, and law, security, and peace. Robert Golob will personally oversee the healthcare sector. Other key figures include Alenka Bratušek (elderly and social security), Vinko Logaj (youth and knowledge), Klemen Boštjančič (economy and public finance), Jure Leben (energy and infrastructure), and Matej Grah (security and order).

While the ruling coalition, composed of SDS, NSi, SLS, Fokus, and Demokrati, maintains that they are on the right path, the opposition has criticized the administration's first 100 days. The shadow government intends to demonstrate that policy can be prepared in a “dignified manner” rather than solely through criticism.
