Slovenia and Lombardy Shine at Brixia Next Gen U18 Athletics Meet

The Brixia Next Gen Under‑18 international athletics competition was held in Bressanone, Italy, at the end of May 2026. Sixteen teams, including Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Slovenia, took part.

Slovenia entered 18 male and 14 female athletes and finished fourth overall with 389.5 points. Nine women and seven men met the qualifying standards for the upcoming European U18 Championships. Notable Slovenian results included Ike Svit's second place in the 100 m (10.85 s, –1.6 m/s), Lovro Kralj's third in the 2000 m hurdles, Patrik Flis's third in the 400 m hurdles, Viktor Krapež's second in the triple jump, and Nejc Meglič's second in the discus.

Lombardy topped the team table with 441.5 points, ahead of Bayern (412.5) and Veneto (404.5). Matilde Paggi earned a bronze medal in the 800 m with a time of 2:13.53, contributing to Lombardy's 15 podium finishes and seven individual victories across the 36 events.
