Slovenia presents 2027-2028 budget proposals
The Slovenian government has presented budget proposals for 2027 and 2028, focusing on stability, security, and economic support. Finance Minister Andrej Šircelj introduced the plans, which include a proposed amendment to the 2027 budget and a new proposal for 2028.
For 2027, planned revenues are set at 17 billion euros, while expenditures are projected at 19.4 billion euros. The state budget deficit is expected to be 2.3 billion euros, or 2.9 percent of GDP. However, the deficit is projected to decrease to 1.7 billion euros, or 2 percent of GDP, as revenues and expenditures are expected to align by 2028.
The government has stated there will be no new taxes. Revenue growth is expected to stem from employment, consumption, and business activity. Additionally, tax scales and relief measures are intended to align with inflation, including a 3,000 euro relief measure for young people.
