Slovenia proposes amendments to implement MiCA crypto regulations
The Slovenian Ministry of Finance has proposed amendments to the law implementing the EU Regulation on Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA). The draft, submitted to the government on October 13 and published on October 22, aims to rectify technical deficiencies and align penalty provisions with EU requirements.
Key aspects of the proposal include adding four new points to Article 15 to sanction violations of MiCA rules that were previously omitted from national law. The amendments also seek to modify descriptions of certain offenses to allow for the sanctioning of entities providing crypto-asset-related services without proper authorization. Additionally, the draft proposes updates to the procedural framework for supervisory authorities.
