Slovenia sees two referendum signature drives

Union federation KSS PERGAM and other labour organisations have begun collecting signatures to launch a national legislative referendum on the so‑called "Law on measures for the development of Slovenia". The first phase gathers unsigned signatures for submission to the parliament on 18 May 2026, after which a second phase will aim for 40 000 verified signatures.

In Ljubljana, activists are gathering signatures to trigger a city‑wide referendum to repeal a newly adopted traffic ordinance that expands paid‑parking zones in residential districts. The petition requires at least 11 500 signatures; by the final collection day they had secured roughly 10 500.
