Slovenia State Election Commission sets local election schedule

The State Election Commission (DVK) has established the official timeline for the upcoming local elections in Slovenia. The first round of voting is scheduled for November 15, with a second round for mayoral races in specific municipalities set for November 29.

Key deadlines include the start of signature collection on September 7 and the final deadline for submitting candidacies on October 15. Municipal election commissions must confirm candidates by October 25 and publish the official lists by October 30. The election campaign will officially run from October 15 until the start of the election silence at midnight on November 13.

Provisions for special voting circumstances are also outlined. Voters in hospitals, prisons, or social care institutions wishing to vote by mail must notify their municipal commission by November 4. Those wishing to vote at home due to illness must notify authorities by November 11. Early voting is also permitted during the week preceding the general election.
