Slovenia to introduce robot taxis following legislative changes

Slovenia's Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Jernej Vrtovec, has announced that the government is preparing legislative changes to enable the introduction of autonomous robot taxis across the country. The proposed rollout could include cities such as Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje, and Gorica.

The announcement follows regulatory approval for Tesla's advanced supervised autonomous driving system in Slovenia. Tesla plans to introduce this functionality to its vehicles via wireless software updates. While the system assists with driving tasks, the minister emphasized that it is not fully autonomous and that the driver remains entirely responsible for safety.
