Slovenia tourism awards announce finalists for 'Moja dežela' 2026

The Slovenian Tourist Board has announced the finalists for the 35th annual 'Moja dežela – znak gostoljubnosti' competition. Held under the patronage of President Nataša Pirc Musar, this year's theme is 'Back to the Roots', encouraging destinations to highlight their unique local identities and heritage.

Professional evaluation committees traveled more than 11,000 kilometers to assess locations based on criteria such as hospitality, sustainability, tourism offerings, and heritage preservation. Notable finalists include Bled in the 'Most Touristy Places' category, and Slovenj Gradec, which qualified in both 'Recognizable Tourist Places' and 'Historical Cores'. Črna na Koroškem has been named a finalist in the 'Hidden Tourist Places' category.

Public voting will be held online from October 1 to November 1, 2026. The final winners, including recipients of gold, silver, and bronze hospitality marks, will be announced on November 30 during the Slovenian Tourism Days event at Hotel Bernardin.
