Slovenian coalition government outlines autumn agenda at Brdo meeting

Prime Minister Janez Janša led the ruling coalition in a summit on Friday at Brdo near Kranj, a month after the government’s oath of office. The meeting focused on a normative work programme for the remainder of the year, with ministers and MPs expected to review key projects slated for the autumn session.

The coalition plans to advance a draft law establishing a national demographic register and to present a budget‑rebalancing proposal this week, with Finance Minister Andrej Šircelj indicating detailed expenditure analyses will be discussed in an upcoming cabinet session. Additional priorities include decentralisation measures, steps to ease the economy and labour market, and reforms to the health sector.

Partners also aim to introduce legislation creating the “Skok” agency, a special body tasked with combating corruption and organised crime, under the Justice Ministry led by Mihael Zupančič. The agenda reflects the coalition’s 2026‑2030 programme, which emphasizes development, anti‑corruption, decentralisation and bureaucratic reduction as the government reaches its 100‑day milestone.
