Slovenian family killed in Italy explosion and fire

A Slovenian family has perished following a fatal explosion and fire at a tourist accommodation in Mileto, located in southern Italy's Calabria region. The incident occurred on August 25, shortly after 8:30 PM, while the family was reportedly preparing for dinner.

The victims include a 44-year-old father and his 48-year-old wife, both of whom died from severe burns sustained during the blast. Their 10-year-old daughter also passed away after medical staff fought for her life for nearly a week following the incident.

Two carabinieri staying at the same facility provided initial assistance by attempting to extinguish the flames and helping the injured reach a nearby pool. The victims were subsequently transported to specialized medical centers in Palermo, Catania, and Bari.

The Municipality of Ravne na Koroškem, the family's home, has declared three days of mourning, during which public events have been canceled and flags will be flown at half-mast.
