Slovenian food‑preservation guides advise freezing surplus garden vegetables and caution against refreezing melted ice‑c

A Slovenian gardening guide recommends that surplus vegetables such as peppers, zucchini and beans be frozen promptly after harvest. It advises cleaning, removing damaged parts, portioning into small bags and freezing to retain flavor, colour and nutrients. The guide also suggests preparing stuffed peppers in advance, freezing them individually, and later cooking them directly in sauce.

A separate health advisory warns that ice‑cream that has melted and been refrozen can harbour bacteria, as freezing halts but does not kill microbes. Signs of spoilage include large ice crystals, gritty texture, off‑colours, unusual smell or taste. The advice also stresses proper cleaning of soft‑serve machines and using clean water for ice to prevent bacterial growth.
