Slovenian midfielder Tamar Svetlin close to €2 million move to French club Saint‑Étienne
Twenty‑four‑year‑old Tamar Svetlin, who joined Polish side Korona Kielce after leaving Celje in the summer of 2025, is reported to be on the verge of a transfer to Ligue 2 club Saint‑Étienne. The move would see the Slovenian international switch to one of France’s most historic clubs, which has won ten league titles, the last in 1981, and the French Cup in 2012/13. Negotiations are said to be in an advanced stage, with a fee expected to exceed two million euros, though no official announcement has been made. Former Slovenian striker Robert Berić also wore the green Saint‑Étienne jersey between 2015 and 2019, underscoring the club’s past ties to Slovenian players.
