Slovenian municipalities host various community and cultural festivals

Various municipalities in Slovenia are hosting community celebrations featuring diverse cultural, sporting, and social programs.

In Majšperk, festivities include a fishing competition, an art exhibition by Veda Novak, and shooting competitions. The event also marks the 90th anniversary of the PGD Stoperce fire brigade and the 30th anniversary of the Majšperk Firefighting Association, concluding with a celebration.

Bresternica and Gaj will host celebrations from August 29 to September 13, 2026. Highlights include an international rowing regatta on the Drava River, a hiking trip to Tojzlov vrh, and a charity art colony titled ‘Life by the Drava’ to benefit the Sonček Maribor Society.

Sežana is holding celebrations from August 28 to 30, featuring concerts by Mi2 and Nočni skok, municipal award ceremonies, and a sunrise concert by pianist Sašo Vollmaier in Lipica. The program also includes theater performances, open house events at the Sežana Hospital, and exhibitions dedicated to the poet Srečko Kosovel.
