Slovenian national teams secure key sports victories and tournament finishes

Slovenian national teams achieved various results in recent international sports competitions. The men's basketball team secured an 89:86 victory over Latvia in a friendly match at Tivoli. Klemen Prepelič led the comeback, scoring 31 points, including 15 in the final quarter. This win serves as preparation for the 2027 World Cup qualifiers, despite the absence of Luka Dončić.

In flag football, the Slovenian women's national team concluded their debut appearance at the World Championship in Germany in 14th place. A highlight of the tournament was their first-ever World Championship victory against Brazil, with a score of 40:26.

The men's volleyball team completed their training tour in Belgrade, Serbia. They faced the Serbian national team in two matches, losing the first 3:1 and drawing the second. The team is now preparing for the Wagner Memorial tournament in Poland before the European Championship begins on September 9.

Additionally, the women's volleyball team is preparing for a challenging group in the upcoming European Championship, following their successful qualification for the Nations League.
