Slovenian national teams prepare for major qualifying fixtures

The Slovenian under-21 men's football team will conclude its 2027 European Championship qualifying cycle this Friday against the Netherlands at Ljudski vrt. Following a recent loss to Israel that eliminated Slovenia from contention for second place and additional playoffs, coach Andrej Razdrh emphasized that the team remains motivated. Razdrh noted that the loss to Israel was undeserved due to controversial refereeing decisions in a match without VAR, but maintained that his players performed well for two-thirds of the game.

In women's futsal, the Slovenian national team will host an elite group of the 2027 European Championship qualifiers in Laško from October 7 to 10. Slovenia is scheduled to face Italy, France, and defending champions Spain. Coach Drago Adamič has announced the squad for the tournament, which will determine direct qualification for the championship held in Croatia in 2027.
