Slovenian Opposition Chief Zoran Stevanović Under Fire Over Party Deal and MP Scandal

The left‑wing Levica party called on State Assembly president Zoran Stevanović to step down, accusing him of protecting Resnica MP Boris Mijič despite allegations that Mijič’s company Progros has owed tens of thousands of euros in wages and social contributions for over a year. Levica said Mijič continues to post job ads promising high pay while failing to meet employer obligations, and urged Stevanović to enforce political responsibility.

At the same time, Stevanović’s Resnica party rejected a partnership proposal with Prime Minister Janez Janša, stating that the agreement “has no sense” and offers no substantive content. Stevanović emphasized that the party will back any government that aligns with its programme, but will not sign the current deal, describing it as a mere formalities.
