Slovenian party NSi approves coalition pact and joins new government
The leadership of New Slovenia (NSi) confirmed its approval of the coalition agreement that will bring the party into the incoming right‑wing government led by SDS under Janez Janša. Party president Jernej Vrtovec said the executive board and party council are set to vote, with the official decision expected by evening.
NSi is negotiating its share of ministerial posts, likely securing four ministries, with the infrastructure, energy and defence portfolios mentioned as probable allocations. While some key elements of the agreement remain under discussion, the party received a green light from the Democrats and is awaiting formal approval from SDS, SLS and Fokus. No major surprises are anticipated at the upcoming meeting.
