Slovenian Police Ban Drunk Tractor Driver Who Fell Asleep

On Thursday at about 13:00, police officers from Šentjernej in Slovenia responded to a report of dangerous behaviour by a 64‑year‑old tractor driver near Javorovice. The driver had stopped his tractor on the road and, appearing intoxicated, fell asleep at the wheel. Police located him, prohibited any further driving and ordered an alcohol test, which the driver refused. He was fined €1,200, assigned 18 penalty points, and his driving licence was suspended. Prosecutors will submit an indictment for the offences. The police reiterated that driving under the influence remains a major risk factor for serious traffic accidents.
