A 21-year-old man is in custody after a violent incident on the Gorenjska highway in Slovenia. During a police procedure, the suspect attacked an officer, seized their service pistol, and shot the officer in the arm. Following the shooting, the suspect stole a police vehicle and fled toward the Gorenjska region. After an extensive search involving helicopters and special units, police apprehended the suspect in Radovljica. Authorities also recovered the stolen service pistol from the ground.

The suspect had been involved in a prior incident on Thursday in the Vič area, where he hit a parked vehicle. A judge has since ordered his detention on suspicion of attempted murder, preventing an official act, and vehicle theft.
