Slovenia police report series of thefts and traffic violations

Slovenian police have reported a variety of criminal activities and traffic safety issues across several regions. In the Posavje area, thefts included the theft of approximately 1,000 liters of fuel from a warehouse in Brezina, electrical tools from Senovo, and copper gutters in Brežice. Additionally, police in the Brežice area apprehended 13 foreign nationals for illegal border crossings.

Traffic enforcement has highlighted significant safety concerns regarding modified mopeds. In Ljubljana and on the coast, police intercepted mopeds reaching speeds of nearly 100 km/h, far exceeding their legal design limits. Authorities warned that such modifications compromise braking and structural integrity, posing high risks to riders and pedestrians.

In other incidents, police responded to a drunk individual disrupting order and attacking officers in Senovo, and addressed various local crimes in the Domžale area, including fuel theft and unauthorized highway walking. Furthermore, new regulations are expected in Slovenia regarding alcohol testing; following a Constitutional Court ruling, police will increasingly use breathalyzers at stations rather than simple handheld tests to ensure legal compliance.
