Slovenian President Pirc Musar visits Vatican

Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar is visiting the Vatican to meet with Pope Leo XIV and Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. The primary purpose of the visit is to formally deliver a written invitation to the Pope to visit Slovenia.

The meeting serves as a continuation of regular diplomatic dialogue between Slovenia and the Holy See. During discussions, the President intends to emphasize friendly relations and exchange views on current international issues, expressing support for the Pope’s efforts regarding peace and dialogue. She will also visit the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences and a hospice.

This visit follows recent diplomatic engagements by other Slovenian officials, including Prime Minister Janez Janša, who met with the Pope in early October to discuss the potential upgrading of the bilateral agreement between Slovenia and the Holy See, and Foreign Minister Tone Kajzer, who visited in September.
