Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša and President Nataša Pirc Musar outline agenda for new government

Prime Minister Janez Janša introduced the priorities of Slovenia’s 16th government, stressing record public‑sector spending, acute corruption concerns and the nation’s first ministry explicitly named for demographics. He pledged a realistic Atlantic foreign policy, active EU and NATO participation, and promised concrete solutions before the upcoming NATO summit in July.

President Nataša Pirc Musar, receiving the new cabinet, called for constructive and respectful cooperation, warned against revanchism, and reaffirmed commitment to the rule of law, human rights and the social welfare state. Both leaders emphasized working together despite differing views to address the country’s fiscal and strategic challenges.
