Celje prepares for Europa League clash against RB Salzburg
Slovenian champions Celje face RB Salzburg in a UEFA Europa League league-phase fixture at Stadion Z'dezele. Celje enters the match under significant pressure after losing their opening two matches against Bayer Leverkusen and Omonia without scoring a goal. The team, led by coach Zoran Zeljković, is seeking its first points of the campaign to improve its standing in the tournament.
RB Salzburg arrives as the favorite, currently positioned higher in the league phase after a victory over Levski Sofia. Despite a recent heavy defeat against AC Milan, the Austrian side has shown strong defensive form in recent competitive matches. Celje's recent domestic form has also been mixed, including a recent goalless draw against Maribor in the Prva Liga.
Celje's captain, Mario Kvesić, has emphasized the need for hard work and a positive mindset to navigate the current crisis, while Zeljković noted the physical strength of the upcoming Salzburg opponent.
