Slovenian Ski Association presents winter season lineup

The Slovenian Ski Association held its annual presentation for the upcoming winter sports season at Brdo pri Kranju. The event gathered athletes, sponsors, and media to preview the competitive landscape for the winter months.

Alpine skiing discipline leader Aleš Rogelj noted that the season will officially begin on October 24 and 25 in Sölden, Austria, with Žan Kranjec, Neja Dvornik, and Miha Oserban set to compete in the giant slalom. Due to poor training conditions in Europe for giant slalom, the technical discipline team, including Andreja Slokar and Nika Tomšič, will focus on the slalom season opener in Levi, Finland, on November 14.

Slokar is currently recovering from a knee injury, though Rogelj indicated her condition is improving. Other notable mentions include Nika Prevc, who aims to defend her crystal globe, and the announcement that biathlete Anamarija Lampič will miss this season due to pregnancy. The presentation also highlighted the strength of the biathlon team, represented by Jakov Fak and Polona Klemenčič.
