Slovenian tourism regions report growth in arrivals and overnight stays

Slovenian tourism destinations are reporting growth and stable performance across several key regions. In Brežice, the first eight months of 2026 saw 555,264 overnight stays, a 4.5% increase compared to the previous year, alongside an 8% rise in arrivals totaling 172,693. Foreign visitors accounted for 63% of the total, with an average stay of 3.1 days, exceeding the national average.

In the Gorenjska region, Bled reported a successful summer season with 163,938 arrivals in July and August, a 5% increase from last year. Bohinj recorded nearly 763,000 overnight stays in the first eight months, up nearly 10% year-on-year, while Kranjska Gora saw a 10.8% increase in overnight stays in July. Key international markets include Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and several European nations. Tourism providers noted shifts in consumer behavior, including smaller dining groups and a trend toward later bookings for outdoor activities.
