Slovenia's Central Bank Flags Rising Financial Risks Amid Growing Interest in Gold as Safe Haven

The Bank of Slovenia warned that macro‑financial risks are increasing, citing heightened cyber threats, a more volatile real‑estate market and growing credit exposures. Governor Primož Dolenc said the banking system remains resilient but stressed the need for stronger deposit stability and proactive risk management.

At the same time, financial advisers are promoting investment‑grade gold as a hedge against inflation, credit risk and currency volatility. They argue that physical gold offers real‑value protection, no credit risk, global liquidity and psychological security, positioning it as an alternative to bank deposits in uncertain economic conditions.
