Slovenia's .si domain surges following Trump's 'super intelligence' rebrand

Following a presidential decree by Donald Trump to replace the term “artificial intelligence” with “super intelligence” (SI) in official U.S. government documents, there has been a massive surge in registrations for the .si domain extension. The Slovenian country code top-level domain has seen a significant spike, with over 10,000 new registrations reported in a single day following the announcement.

Elon Musk has reportedly rebranded his AI company from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI as part of this trend. While some speculation suggested that individuals with prior knowledge of the decree profited immensely, financial analysis indicates that the revenue for Slovenia's registry is relatively modest, estimated at approximately €425,000, which is significantly less than the millions earned by Anguilla through its .ai domain.

Trump's shift to the term “super intelligence” was motivated by his belief that the word “artificial” implies the technology is fake. He also announced the creation of a “Super Intelligence Force” to be led by National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton.
