Slovenská sporiteľňa named most innovative digital bank in Slovakia

Slovenská sporiteľňa has been named the ‘Most Innovative Digital Bank in Slovakia’ by Global Finance as part of the World’s Best Consumer Digital Bank Awards 2026. The recognition highlights the bank's integration of technology, data, and automation to simplify financial management for its clients.

Key digital services include an online account opening process that takes less than ten minutes and an online mortgage application system that reduces processing time by up to 40%. Through its George application, clients can manage 92% of extra loan repayments and 93% of payment date changes digitally.

The bank also offers expanded investment options via the George app, providing access to over 1,000 securities, including stocks, funds, ETFs, and bonds. Notably, it is the only bank in Slovakia allowing retail clients to purchase state bonds fully digitally. Additionally, the George Junior service, in partnership with O2, allows parents to manage a child's account, payment card, and SIM card through a single digital process.
