Sloviansk residents face ongoing strikes near Ukrainian front line
Russian aerial bombardments in Sloviansk, a city near the Ukrainian front line, have caused significant damage to residential areas. Recent strikes involving three aerial bombs hit the western outskirts of the city, destroying part of a five-story building and leaving at least seven people injured.
Despite offers of evacuation, many residents remain in the city due to financial constraints. Local pensioners reported that the cost of living and housing in other regions makes relocation difficult on their current pensions. While electricity and water services are still available in some neighborhoods, gas supplies have been interrupted.
In a subsequent attack, bombs struck a building housing a state emergency service center and a Red Cross unit. Residents continue to attempt to clean their homes and secure windows even as active combat and aerial strikes persist in the area.
