Slow Food launches Ecosistema Garda to unify lake management

Slow Food organizations from Lombardy, Veneto, and Trentino-Alto Adige have launched ‘Ecosistema Garda’ to address the environmental and administrative fragmentation surrounding Lake Garda. The initiative aims to create a unified structure to manage the lake’s complex ecosystem, which includes its surrounding valleys, hills, and agricultural lands.

By sharing information and knowledge across different regional borders, the project focuses on interconnected issues such as biodiversity, fishing, olive growing, agriculture, soil consumption, tourism, and water quality. The collaboration seeks to use food as a tool to understand and advocate for the landscape and local economies, ensuring a cohesive approach to the territory’s future.
