Slow Food movement honors founder Carlo Petrini in 2026 Turin event

The 2026 edition of ‘Terra Madre Salone del Gusto’ is scheduled to take place in the historic center of Turin from September 24 to 27. The event serves as a tribute to the legacy of Carlo ‘Carlin’ Petrini, the founder of the Slow Food movement, who passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 76.

Organizers noted that the event will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the ‘Chiocciola’ (Snail) symbol. The upcoming edition will feature the theme ‘Biodiversity – Be Diversity’ and is expected to host high-profile attendees, including Italian President Sergio Mattarella, activist Satish Kumar, Alice Waters, economist Raj Patel, and historian Massimo Montanari.
