Slow Horses renewed for season 8 by Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has officially renewed the Emmy-winning spy thriller ‘Slow Horses’ for an eighth season. The series, starring Gary Oldman as the abrasive MI5 veteran Jackson Lamb, is based on the Slough House novel series by Mick Herron. Season 8 is expected to adapt the ninth book, ‘Clown Town’, and will feature a central confrontation between Lamb and Diana Taverner.

Season 6 of the series premiered on September 16, 2026. This installment adapts both ‘Joe Country’ and ‘Slough House’, marking a departure from the previous format of adapting a single book per season. The new season introduces significant character developments, including the death of David Cartwright, played by Jonathan Pryce, and the revelation of long-held secrets involving Catherine Standish.

The series has received critical acclaim, including multiple Emmy nominations and wins for directing and writing. As the show continues, there is growing speculation regarding the potential for the franchise to expand into spinoffs or other media, given its global popularity and the depth of the Slough House literary universe.
