Slow Horses Season 6 features death of David Cartwright

The sixth season of the Apple TV series ‘Slow Horses’ begins with the death of David Cartwright, the former head of MI5 and grandfather of agent River Cartwright. His passing occurs off-screen due to natural causes and complications from dementia following a period in advanced care.

To maintain security protocols regarding his former intelligence career, David’s service to the country is publicly obscured. He is given a fabricated professional title as the ‘Head of Transportation’ for his funeral arrangements. The service is attended by high-ranking officials, including Diana Taverner, and Jackson Lamb.

In addition to David’s death, the season premiere features the fatal attacks of former Slough House members Struan Loy and Kay White by assassins.
