Slow Horses Season 6 to feature darker tone and heavier themes

The Apple TV spy series ‘Slow Horses’ is returning for its sixth season, which is described by star Gary Oldman as being ‘darker and heavier’ in tone. The upcoming season explores the fallout from a plot to destabilize the country and features a shift in visual and thematic elements.

Oldman noted that despite the absence of longtime executive producer Will Smith, the production remains a collaborative effort with a consistent creative team. Director and executive producer Adam Randall, who previously won an Emmy for his work on the series, has been involved since the beginning of the season to help shape the emotional depth of the characters.

The series is based on the book collection by Mick Herron, which follows Jackson Lamb and a group of exiled MI5 agents stationed at Slough House. The sixth season is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV on September 16, 2026, with six episodes released weekly through October 21.
