Sluis council appointment stalled as fire station fate and nuclear plant proposals debated in Zeeland

The installation of new council members in Sluis was cancelled after a required VOG (certificate of conduct) for one of the three incoming wethouders was not received, prompting the municipal council to postpone the appointment.

In Cadzand, the regional safety authority and Sluis municipality are set to announce the final decision on whether to close the local fire station, following concerns about staffing vulnerabilities.

Meanwhile, the Provincial States of Zeeland are discussing two motions concerning the possible construction of nuclear power plants in the Paulinapolder area near Biervliet, reflecting ongoing debates over energy policy in the province.
