SM Entertainment faces backlash over sale of former NCT member's clothing

SM Entertainment is facing significant backlash following the sale of clothing items previously worn by former NCT member Taeil at a charity flea market in Seoul. The event, held at Lotte World Tower to celebrate NCT’s 10th anniversary, was intended to raise funds for organizations supporting women, youth, and cultural initiatives.

Fans discovered that items, including an OAMC jacket seen in an NCT 127 music video and a sweatshirt, were linked to Taeil, who is currently serving a prison sentence after being convicted of gang rape. The inclusion of these items has led to intense criticism regarding the company’s screening process, with fans arguing that selling the belongings of a convicted sex offender is inappropriate, especially for an event aimed at supporting women.

Following the discovery, some fans reported receiving apologies and refunds at the venue. SM Entertainment has confirmed that the items were included in the sale.
