Small businesses adopt AI for marketing while resisting workforce automation

Small businesses are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence into their operations, though motivations and adoption rates vary by sector and region. According to a report by Constant Contact, approximately 48% of small businesses are already utilizing AI for data and marketing purposes, such as creating social media content and flyers.

For many entrepreneurs, AI serves as a cost-saving tool to offset rising marketing expenses. Some business owners use it to manage tasks themselves when professional graphic design services become unaffordable. However, some creative professionals warn that over-reliance on AI may result in a loss of brand uniqueness and community impact.

In Georgia, a study by Careerminds reveals a different trend regarding workforce automation. While 61% of small-business owners surveyed believe AI could perform a meaningful portion of their employees' current tasks, many are hesitant to replace human workers. The study suggests that employee loyalty, long-term service, and the preservation of institutional knowledge act as significant barriers to full AI integration, with 33% of owners citing loyalty as their primary reason for retaining staff.
