Small plane crashes near Bill Elliott's airfield in Georgia

A small Piper PA-32-300 aircraft crashed near Elliot Field in Dawson County, Georgia, on Sunday afternoon. The crash occurred near Highway 183 in an area featuring dense pine trees.

Two middle-aged men were on board the aircraft. Reports indicate one passenger was able to escape, while the other remained trapped in the wreckage and required extraction by fire crews. Both individuals were reported to have sustained multi-system trauma.

Bill Elliott, the NASCAR Hall of Famer who owns the private airfield, stated that the plane lost its motor mid-flight before descending. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are leading the investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
