Smallshaws opens at Branxton’s historic Commercial Hotel

Cam Willis and his team have transformed the historic Commercial Hotel in Branxton into a new dining destination named Smallshaws. Following four years of operating the Huntlee-based takeaway venue Meltdown, the team has transitioned to a licensed, sit-down establishment.

The new venue offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a globally inspired menu. The name Smallshaws serves as an homage to Henry Smallshaw, the building’s first publican, following the original hotel's destruction by fire in 1929. After taking over the lease in January, the team completed a two-month renovation, resulting in a space that includes a dining room, two bars, and a courtyard.
