Smart Energy Conference to discuss renewable energy and transition

The Smart Energy Conference, scheduled for September 22-23 in Curitiba, will focus on energy transition, supply security, and the strengthening of renewable sources. A key highlight includes a panel featuring representatives from the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul to discuss regional energy resilience and growth.

The Paraná Energy Superintendency (Supen) will present government actions aimed at stimulating the production of biogas, biomethane, and low-carbon hydrogen. This includes tax incentives and specific projects in Carambeí and Fazenda Rio Grande. Practical applications of biomethane are already being utilized by transport companies like Cetrilog and Bioköhler, as well as in the industrial sector by companies such as Aesa.

Additionally, the conference will feature developments in renewable hydrogen, specifically highlighting a pilot plant at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) that produces low-carbon hydrogen.
