Smart home technology evolves toward integrated energy management ecosystems

The smart home sector is transitioning from a collection of individual connected devices toward integrated ecosystems that coordinate various household functions. This evolution aims to improve thermal comfort, lighting, and energy efficiency through automated communication between devices.

Somfy is focusing on this ecosystem approach with its TaHoma hub, which centralizes connected devices to create automated scenarios. A key component of this strategy involves solar shading, which acts as a primary barrier against solar radiation. Automating these systems allows for precise management of light and heat throughout the day.

In the realm of thermoregulation, BTicino offers connected solutions designed to manage indoor temperatures precisely to avoid energy waste. Their Smarther AC thermostat is designed for air conditioning and fan coil systems, utilizing omnidirectional infrared technology and auto-learning functions to control up to 10 IR emitters. Additionally, the Smarther2 is intended for domestic heating control. Both systems can be managed remotely via the Home + Control app, allowing users to set weekly schedules and adjust settings based on specific room needs and habits.
