Smart home technology shifts toward local AI processing

Developments in smart home technology are shifting toward local processing to address connectivity and privacy concerns. At IFA 2026, Anker introduced MindBase, a system designed to reduce reliance on cloud-based processing. The MindBase ecosystem includes EasyOmni Link for device connectivity, TrueSmart Agent for executing AI agents directly on hardware via an AI Core card, and EverSafe Memory for local storage.

As households integrate more devices—including cameras, sensors, and smart appliances—the demand for robust internet connections increases. Common indicators that a home network may be insufficient include freezing video calls during simultaneous use, streaming quality degradation, latency in online gaming, and slow file downloads or cloud backups caused by the high volume of connected devices.
