Signal Ring Introduces First Cuffless Blood Pressure Smart Ring

Vital Signals has launched the Signal Ring, a titanium smart ring that measures systolic and diastolic blood pressure from the finger using an optical sensor and proprietary AI algorithms. The device requires no arm cuff, no periodic calibration and provides continuous readings as well as on‑demand “Zen Mode” checks. Founder and CEO Tom Moss, who survived a life‑threatening hypertensive event, says the ring is meant to give everyday users a convenient way to track arterial health and understand how activities, meals or stress affect their numbers. The ring streams data to an iOS/Android app, can be exported for third‑party analysis and is priced at US $399 with pre‑orders opening soon. While the company is seeking regulatory clearance, the Ring is not yet FDA‑approved and is positioned as a consumer health tool rather than a medical device. Analysts note its potential to fill a gap left by current wearables such as the Apple Watch and Oura Ring, which can only issue alerts but do not provide cuff‑free blood pressure values.
