Smart rings expand health tracking capabilities with new models
The smart ring market is seeing increased competition with the release of new high-end wearable devices designed for health and activity tracking.
RingConn has launched the RingConn Gen 3, a healthcare-focused smart ring that operates without a subscription model. Priced at approximately 59,800 yen, the device features titanium and epoxy resin construction with IP68/10ATM water resistance. A notable feature is its ability to visualize vascular health trends by combining data on blood pressure, stress, sleep, and exercise, though it requires initial calibration using a standard blood pressure monitor.
Oura has also introduced the Oura Ring 4, positioning itself as a premium leader in the sector. The device weighs between 3.3 and 5.2 grams and offers various color options. Like other smart rings, it relies on a smartphone app for data analysis and does not feature a built-in display, focusing instead on discreetly monitoring health metrics similar to smartwatches.
