Smart Sand reports record quarterly revenue and profitability

Smart Sand, Inc. reported record quarterly revenue and sales volumes for the second quarter of 2026. Revenue increased 34% year-over-year to $115.1 million, up from $85.8 million in the same period last year.

The company returned to profitability with a net income of $10.2 million, or $0.26 per diluted share, following a loss in the first quarter. Sales volumes reached approximately 1.86 million tons, representing a 31% increase year-over-year. CEO Charles Young described the period as one of the best in the company’s history, citing record contribution margins and adjusted EBITDA.

Growth was driven by higher volumes and modest pricing gains. The company expects continued demand in North American natural-gas consumption, supported by LNG exports, gas-fired electricity generation, and AI data centers.
